Welcome to Podcast UFO

I want to welcome you visitor to my new website and podcast. This initial blog is more or less telling you about myself.

I have always had scientific interests and enjoy learning about astronomy. It seems the more I try to learn about our universe, the less I realize I know. It is baffling to try to understand. For instance,¬† just trying to wrap your head around the big bang alone is mind numbing. Still to this day I enjoy gazing through my telescope along with my son and enjoying hours of the night’s sky.

I was a kid in the late 1960s when there was all kinds of UFO talk and sightings in Maine. I lived on a big hill that overlooked a great distance including a river that separated Maine from New Hampshire. Just on the other side of the river was Pease Air Force Base with it’s 10,000 foot runway. This runway was so vast that I heard you could land a commercial jet sideways on it. During the time of all the sightings, my sisters and I used to sit on the front porch with binoculars just waiting to see a flying saucer. The best it ever got was a weather balloon and lots of jets and planes.

Time marched on and it seemed like the sightings dropped, I had heard of a few local hoaxes and not much was talked about in the UFO realm anymore. That never waivered  my wonderment of the extraterrestrial possibilities. In high school I wrote and essay in English that won me one of my few A-s in that class. In a nutshell, it concluded that all races on the earth were placed here from civilizations across our galaxy. We were all put here as an experiment to see how we would develop and we are being observed. That would explain why there is such distinct physical differences in our races and why UFOs were here. I think this theory was pondered many times, but at the time, the thought was new to me.

I brought this up to my insurance agent that I mention to Stephen Bassett in podcast episode one. To recap, Tom was my insurance agent, but I have forgotten his last name. We got into a long conversation one evening and he told me that he was in a secret task force in Vietnam during the war that was investigating UFOs. He said they were attracted to nuclear arms and there were sightings even during napalming. This was the first I had ever heard of anything like that. He told me that he was stationed somewhere that had nuclear warheads, and saw a UFO himself. Getting back to my high school essay, I told him the details of it, and he said it was not far away from what the government has concluded. He said to think of it more like a petri dish. I am not really sure what he meant by that.

About six years ago, I had a sighting myself in Carmel Valley, California. I was sitting alone (unfortunately) in a hot tub when something caught my eye, and right over head was a perfectly shaped disk. It was moving a steady pace directly toward Monterey without a sound. I called the police just to see if anyone else saw it, and got nowhere fast. I was put on hold and had the feeling the dispatch just wanted to get rid of me. I told only a few people and when I said something to a colleague at work, I saw the disbelief in her eyes. From that point, I have more or less kept it to myself.

I started podcasting on antiques and art a few years ago and on a comedy show as well. I brought up UFOs on my comedy podcast and the downloads were very impressive. I decided to combine two of my interests and thus Podcast UFO was born. I looked around and saw that I AM NOT ALONE as far as podcasting on UFOs, as a matter of fact, there are plenty. To offer a little something different, I decided to make this a place where people can post their own recordings if they choose as well as post guest blogs. It is a work in progress, so I will see where this whole thing leads me.

I have been looking for guests since about a month ago. I posted in the Phoenix Craigslit to see if I could hear from anyone who witnessed the craft that went through there on March, 1997. All I heard from was advertisers and a man who claimed the aliens stole his chickens and probed him. I like humor, but was disappointed I did not have a valid reply. If you have read this far, and want to be a guest, or know someone who would like to be, please do contact me and let me know.

Thank you for reading.

Sincerely,

Martin Willis
