Kudos for having the guts to terminate the interview Martin.

For anybody who might still think this man has any credibilty, please take the time to note he was a Special Effects artist and a number of high production hollywood movies.

You cant definitely trust that he wouldn’t lie with his videos and photographs.

That was an unexpected ending, but thanks for doing it.
I had already listened to the same guy on Mysterious Universe last week and was wondering why the hosts there even bothered (they’re not super picky about their guests, I guess).
    So thanks again.

I wish more radio hosts had the personal integrity that Martin does. There is far too much obvious BS being peddled as fact.

I, too, listened to Mr. Rudnyk on Mysterious Universe and I was seeing ‘red flags’ at every step of the way. That’s all I want to say about him because I don’t want to make it personal, but I think you made the right call and I admire your open-mindedness AND your skepticism.

It was short-sighted of you to humiliate and censor your
Guest. Did it ever occur to you that they are trying to discredit him? There is history of discrediting UF O sightings and since he was an astronomer and JPL employee maybe they are afraid he might bring some real attention to the situation.

Excellent call in terminating the Marian Rudnyk interview. As is your norm, you managed it in a professional and thoughtful manner. I also listened to Mr. Rudnyk on the MU podcast. I thought at the time what he had to say was compelling, but there’s always a caveat with stories of this ilk. Buyer beware. I was interested enough after his MU interview to download a sample of his book. Needless to say, I didn’t buy it–neither the book, nor the yarn he’s spinning. A red flag for me is always the quality of the writing and editing. It just isn’t there with this book. I would posit there’s an arrogance and underlying sense of self-importance in Mr. Rudynk that leaks through in the writing. Again, good call, Martin.

It’s completely unprofessional to boot a guest off a show. I don’t care if you did it politely or not – you just don’t do it!
How will future guests feel about coming on your show if they feel that if you have a difference of opionin you might kick them off?
And whatever you say it’s pretty humiliating to get kicked off.
There should be no argument here, it shouldn’t have happened.
Instead of kicking him off you should have challenged him. Booting him off was just wrong.

Perhaps you both are right on this, it was a decision I made at the time. My only justification is, I felt he was deceiving the listener, and I did challenge him often.

I think I have a pretty open mind, but my God! How open minded do you have to be to be? That was hard to listen to. I think Martin did him a favor and minimized further embarrassment. I was surprised he let it go as long as he did.

Skepticism of witnesses is a necessary ingredient of open minded research, but silencing witnesses is a tactic of closed minded debunkers. I was impressed with Mr. Rudnik’s grace and poise in accepting his abrupt termination, even thanking the interviewer for the time granted him. Nothing he claims to have happened to him since his sighting has not been reported many times before by other witnesses. Ufology has a history of preposterous claims not being taken seriously by “scientific” ufologists: NICAP refused for years to publish accounts of landings or entity sightings. It took APRO to overcome that taboo. And many mainstream ufologists were sure ufology would be harmed by abductions accounts revealed through hypnosis after Bud Hopkins “Intruders” was published. John Mack’s courageous interviews helped give such accounts legitimacy. There may be important information in any witnesses account and they should always be heard out.

I understand your logic, and agree he was gracious in accepting the termination. I have heard many accounts in the 350+ shows I have done and countless people I have spoken to. My BS meter was redlining in this one, I do not believe him and think he is grandstanding. If you listen to his claims, you have to agree they are over the top for what he witnessed. I would do it all over again if the same thing was happening. I appreciate your comment and have no desire to silence credible people.
