How to Use the RSS Link in Media Players & Support

Note: If you stop listening to episodes for a few weeks, sometimes you will need to re-sign into your media player’s program. For support, email: martin (at sign) podcastufo (dot) com

I apologize not adding a direct email link, spambots are relentless.

For Podcast UFO Premium Content Members

Different podcast apps use different methods for subscribing to a premium/paid subscription podcast. Instructions for some are included below. Here is a list of podcast apps.

Podcast UFO Player subscription RSS feed URL: http://rss.podcastufo.com

Please note: to access the Player subscription RSS feed you must enter your subscription Email Address (which is your PayPal email address) and Password, and these are case-sensitive, so if you enter them with capitals when you signup you must enter exactly the same when accessing the feed.

Instructions:

iTunes (Windows):
Launch your iTunes application
Click on the ADVANCED pulldown menu
Select Subscribe To Podcast
Copy the feed URL above into the URL field in iTunes
Click OK
Enter your Member Email Address and Password when prompted.

iTunes (Mac):
Launch your iTunes application
Click on the FILE pulldown menu
Select Subscribe To Podcast
Copy the feed URL into the URL field in iTunes
Click OK
Enter your Member Email Address and Password when prompted.

IOS – iPhone / iPad

Open the IOS Podcast app. Go to Library and then Shows, and tap the EDIT in the upper left corner. Click “Add Podcast by URL”, then paste in the RSS LINK:  http://rss.podcastufo.com

Click OK.

You’ll be prompted to enter your subscription email address and password.

Sometimes you will need to SLIDE DOWN the list on the Podcasts App, to force an refresh/update if it doesn’t already do this on its own. The links will expire after a few hours and so the App needs to get fresh links.

Great source for learning how to use the Apple IOS Podcasts app:

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201859

Earlier versions
Tap the MY PODCASTS button on the lefthand side of the bottom menu.
Enter the feed URL into the Search My Podcasts field at the top of the screen (pull down on the screen to reveal the search field if you can’t see it)
Hit the SEARCH button on your keyboard.
Enter your Member Email Address and Password when prompted.

Here are some tips for if an app does NOT have a place for user/pass a user can enter their login credentials into the URL field of their podcast app.

http://email@domain.com:password@rss.podcastufo.com

http://email__domain.com:password@rss.podcastufo.com  – replace @ with two _

In the event your domain or email contains two underscores, use this last version:

http://email___domain.com:password@rss.podcastufo.com  – replace @ with three _

Example: http://john.Doe__aol.com:PASSWORD@rss.podcastufo.com/

The reason for the THREE formats is that some podcast apps don’t pass the @ sign in the URL causing issues.  So, I am allowing two or three underscores to help with that.  This covers most if not all of the podcast apps.

Recommended- Downcast (iOS):

Tap Add on the bottom bar, tap Add Podcast Manually. Enter the feed URL into the Feed field:

Enter your Email Address and Password below that. Hit Subscribe, top right of the screen.

Instacast (iOS):
Enter the feed URL into the search bar, tap Search
Enter your Member Email Address and Password when prompted.

Pocket Casts (iOS):
This is on the No Work List, sorry.

Overcast (iOS):
Tap on Add URL in the top right corner. Enter the feed URL into the search bar with this format: http://Email three underscores domain:Password@( above feed url) See example

http://John.Doe__aol.com:PASWORD@rss.podcastufo.com/

Bringcast (Windows Phone):
Select the Star icon, this should lead to the subscriptions tab, tap Add. Enter the feed URL:
Enter Email Address, enter Password, tap Add Podcast.

Android podcast app: The following Android app should work using this format for the feed: http://Email Address:Password@( above feed url). There are free and paid versions, either works best on Android.
