Martin Willis sits down with Anne Ramsey Cuvelier, who for years opened her historic Newport, Rhode Island mansion to an extraordinary circle of UFO experiencers, researchers and investigators. What began as informal gatherings became a rare safe place where people who said they had experienced UFO encounters and abductions could speak openly without fear of ridicule. Anne recalls gatherings attended by figures including Harvard psychiatrist Dr. John Mack, Budd Hopkins, Barbara Lamb, Peter Robbins, members of the Allagash abduction case, and others deeply involved in the UFO and experiencer community. She explains why she believed giving these individuals a place to talk privately and compare experiences was so important during an era when discussing alien abduction could bring intense ridicule. Now 92, Anne also shares remarkable memories from a lifetime surrounding the UFO mystery. She discusses her father’s comments about unidentified objects capable of hovering and accelerating at tremendous speed, his friendship with former Secretary of Defense James Forrestal, her controversial thoughts about Forrestal and President Kennedy, and her experiences investigating crop circles in England with John Mack and others. Anne even recounts spending a night inside a crop circle and photographing a mysterious man dressed in black standing nearby. The conversation also explores the Allagash case, changing public attitudes toward UFO experiencers, the stigma surrounding abduction reports, Anne’s memories of John Mack, Budd Hopkins and other pioneers, and why she believes the UFO subject is finally being taken more seriously. This is not simply a conversation about UFOs. It is the story of a woman who quietly provided a place where experiencers could come together, compare what had happened to them, and for once know that someone was willing to listen. Public reporting confirms that Anne’s historic waterfront home, the Sanford-Covell Villa Marina, became the site of these gatherings. The house dates to 1895 and remained in Anne’s family for generations before she sold it in 2022.
