Former Marine, Jonathan Weygandt, UFO/UAP Crash Encounter in Peru

By Martin Willis

I feel lucky enough to be the second interviewer of former Marine, Jonathan Weygandt who had an amazing encounter, with bad aftermath while involved in Project Laser Strike in Peru in 1997. Check out the interview HERE.

Portions of Jonathan’s 2001 edited interview can be seen HERE.

Jonathan went into the Marines in 1995, and after Boot Camp in South Caroline, he was deployed in Texas, and in early 1997, Peru.

Jonathan was vetted by journalist Leslie Kean in 2000, after he was connected to Dr. Steven Greer, who made a choice to feature an interview with him for the 2001 Disclosure Project. James Fox was involved in the interview and recently commented to me that out of all the interviews for that project, Jonathan was the most outstanding, and “believes him 110%”

Operation Laser Strike was a operating 19 Latin American countries to counter ongoing drug smuggling. It was active in Peru, from September 1996 through June 1997 US Marines supported the counter-drug operations of US Southern Command (CINCSOUTH) with a ground mobile radar and communications team.

Purportedly, while on guard duty patrol, Jonathan spoke to two women from the ground based radar station one day that claimed they were catching objects flying in and out of the atmosphere at over mach 10, several thousand miles per hour.

New Information Since the First Interview

I learned a few things while getting to know Jonathan over these last few months, prior to interviewing him. First of all, he is a no-nonsense type of person. He is highly intelligent, well read and articulate. The most important thing I learned is, he wants nothing to do with those involved in UFOlogy, nothing to do with the press of any type and it was very uncomfortable for him to recount what happened in 1997. He told me ahead of time that he had nothing to add to the first interview, and he was right. I did ask him some details, and he shared a few of them. One; it was the very first mission of heading out on a mission to check on a crashed craft, possibly friendly airplane. Two; there was a being’s arm hanging out of a cockpit? door. Three; the one positive thing he got out of it is, “I am still alive”. There was a time when he did not think he was going to live.

What I referring to is, a troop of men in back camouflage who aggressively took over the situation, shackled him and flew him out of there. He was interrogated for many hours, threatened to never speak about it and shipped back to the US. Things only went downhill from there.
