SCOTT CASSELL, A professional submersible pilot for 5 different subs for filming, scientific & tourism operations performing over 3,300 dives some as deep as 1,500 feet deep. Diving in five different countries including Brunei, Tioman, Germany, Switzerland, & Philippines. Currently Scott is owner / pilot of K250 submersible since 2006 when she entered service as Great White, named after Scott’s friend & mentor, Ralph “Great” White. With nearly two decades of dive operations, Scott has dove the Great White over 2,000 times as deep as 500 feet in five countries without a single mechanical emergency. Scott developed the Undersea Voyager Project, a 501-(c)3, to privatize Ocean Science and empower the people to explore the Ocean’s condition using manned submersibles. Also, Scott and his team were the first to film a Giant Squid in the wild (which aired on History Channel in 2006, estimated to be 54 feet long) 5 years before any others. Credentials: • Accumulated 15,000+ hrs of dive time • USCG Captain & qualified Submersible Pilot • Advanced Diving Medical Technician Instructor (1 of 10 in the USA) • Commercial Mixed Gas Diving Instructor • U.S. Navy qualified Diving Medical Technician & Dive Supervisor • USMC Modular Amphibious Egress Trainer & Aircrew Breathing Device Instructor • Fellow of Royal Geographic Society for being first to film Giant Squid (not paid current) • Received a Royal Laureate from Malaysia for work with Ocean Conservation • Received by His Highness of Brunei for his shark conservation work • Former U.S. Army Flight Medic & Instructor • 33 years military service achieving the rank of Colonel (reserve) • Medal of Valor, Legion of Merit, Meritorious Commendations Was a Private Military Contractor with duties ranging from sniper, team security & combat diver in very high risk missions in war torn regions. Principal investigator on Humboldt Squid for 15 yrs working with Discovery, Animal Planet, History, MTV, National Geo & Disney as science advisor & underwater camera. In 1996 he began to hunt & film poachers using SpecOps Combat Dive & Sniper techniques to collect images of illegal activities & turn the over the evidence-footage to officials. Dozen of poachers were convicted. He recently worked on special project with Sea Shepard deep inside deadly Chinese mafia & drug cartel ruled zones to film the slaughter of the extremely endangered totuaba for the Chinese drug / animal trade. He is dedicated to teaching people to explore and protect the seas using manned submersibles to keep the excitement of oceanic exploration alive, which is why the submersible training program was developed.
