Martin Willis speaks with Brazilian UFO researcher Rony Vernet about his extraordinary fieldwork in the Amazon rainforest, where he has investigated reports of unusual aerial phenomena and encounters described by local and Indigenous residents. Rony discusses a recent mission in Brazil in which he deployed infrared cameras, sensors, satellite internet, communications equipment, and other monitoring tools in an effort to document events scientifically. He reports that multiple cameras and sensors captured an astonishing UAP-related incident, including the apparent shutdown of one camera. According to Rony, the data is being carefully analyzed in preparation for possible scientific papers, with the full material intended for public release. During his time in the Amazon, Rony says he personally witnessed several distinct types of phenomena: • Reported “poltergeist-like” activity, including unexplained sounds, flashing lamps, battery drainage, radio interference, frozen smartphones, and camera shutdowns • Low-flying orange lights and blinking spherical objects reportedly entering the forest • A steady orange-to-red sphere resembling a ball of fire • A luminous fog or aurora-like formation that reportedly became dense, formed a large three-dimensional shape, and was connected to a disturbing local incident • A luminous entity, recorded by multiple pieces of equipment, said to emit a humming sound, illuminate its surroundings, project an oval-shaped object near the ground, and silence the natural sounds of the forest before disappearing We also discuss accounts involving Indigenous communities in the Amazon and their reported encounters with UFOs and alleged non-human entities. Rony shares why he believes the Amazon may be one of the most important—and least understood—areas for serious UAP research. What is happening deep within the Amazon rainforest, and could carefully collected data help bring these accounts into a more scientific conversation?
