BIO: David Toon retired as an Army Aviation Major of 22 years with a military background in both Military Intelligence and Aviation.  His background includes working as an electronics technician working on Top Secret equipment, and finished his career retiring as an Army Aviation Major with numerous hours in utility, reconnaissance, and attack helicopters.

After retirement, David went back to Iraq and Afghanistan in 2006 as a contractor. His last contract was operating million-dollar camera systems hanging below blimps/aerostats over operating bases for security observations of the local area. He then left overseas work in 2013 to pick up his second Bachelor of Science degree at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Unmanned Aircraft Systems. He has a Master of Science degree in Human Factors and is am currently obtaining a second Masters of Science in Aeronautics with space studies also at ERAU (graduate May 2019).

UFO Interest:

David has always had a fascination with UFOs/ETs as a kid, but never pursued it much until the last three years. A weather disturbance over Florida in 2015 started him down an unusual trail of research that led to space weather considerations as the cause of the events. Studying different solar satellite archives, he began to see more than natural events/objects that were hard to explain. He took what little data that he had accumulated to the Astronomy professors at the university he attends for explanation. They quickly answered and dismissed some of the artifacts in the satellite imagery as easily explainable, but they could not explain a couple of items I presented. It was at that point I began collecting more unexplainable data until it became quite apparent there was more than natural forces at work within our own solar system. Having reviewed nearly 5,000,000 satellite images to date, he has a collection of more than 50,000+ images with suspicious objects/scenes in them worth offering to career and citizen scientists for consideration. David has been a MUFON member now for 5 years and recently became a Field Investigator last year.

Specifically, he conducts imagery analysis on NASA archived solar satellite photos to determine if there is any evidence of intelligent anomalies or technosignatures (the term NASA uses for intelligent object). He has been successful in finding enough unexplainable events/objects that can now be categorized, measured, and processed through standard data analysis techniques. The photos with unusual or unexplainable characteristics are then copied and put into his personal archives for future reference and analysis.

When referring to photos that you supply….it would help if you number them and then refer to the number when discussing with guests….it would make it easier for your listeners to follow.

I understand thank you. It may be troublesome, but if you are really interested, you can watch the YouTube video

I’m with Dan. It should be easy to direct listeners to particular photos.

*Great* talk David, thank you. In the images presented on the show, the trails/smears are generally oriented vertically. Is this because you’ve rotated the images to look that way, or are these trail artefacts aligned with the CCD’s row-and-column axes?

The David Toon interview may well be one of the highlights of my year. As someone with passing interest in SOHO this was fascinating. Well done Martin.

These are all just mylar balloons just like the recent batman one, right Alejandro? I mean there’s no possible way there are giant ships out there. And there is no way there are aliens piloting these non existent ships.

I just wonder when enough of this proof will finally shut these doubters up.
