BIO: Philip Kinsella is the author of several UFO and spiritual books and has written countless articles surrounding UFOs, consciousness and the afterlife. He began his investigations after an alien abduction he’d experienced back in the winter of 1989 and has spent the rest of his years exploring alternate theories surrounding both UFOs and alien contact, as well as psychic phenomenon. In 1996, Philip had published an article in ‘Alien Encounters’ which had been considered within its theoretical application. This had been entitled ‘Spirits in a Material World’ and something which had created some controversy with regards to his theoretical assumptions surrounding what a certain faction of the Greys may represent. He has lectured on the subject and has appeared on national television. Philip also co-hosts a radio program ran by the Paranormal UK Radio Network called ‘Twin Souls.’ He lives in Bedfordshire, England.
1973 was a great year for fans of high-strangeness UFO reports. The most famous of these is the October 11th case from Pascagoula, Mississippi, where Charles Hickson and Calvin Parker said they were taken aboard a craft by elephant-skinned humanoids with crab-claw like hands. After their story hit the papers, an article appeared in the October 18, 1973, edition of The Pensacola News ( part 1, part 2 ) headlined “Pickup by UFO Reported.” According to the article, a “Pensacola businessman” (later identified as an electrician) reported an encounter of his own, and his story was even more dramatic than Hickson and Parker’s. UFO investigators at the time seem to have mostly ignored it, as it doesn’t appear in periodicals of the day such as The APRO Bulletin or Flying Saucer Review. This might have been due to the continued focus on the Pascagoula case and the extreme nature of the claim by the man in Pensacola. Read more →

BIO: Dan Carlson is a semi-retired meteorologist and the Sr. Pastor at Christian Life Center church in Belle Fourche (pronounced Bell – Foosh) South Dakota. He’s had a lifelong interest in UAPs that started with two sightings he had as a young boy. He started his broadcasting career with CBS affiliate WCCO in Minneapolis, where he grew up, as the youngest major market TV weather presenter in the nation. From there he went on to become a director of news and programming for two Christian radio stations in the Twin Cities before marrying the love of his life, Karen, and moving to the Black Hills of South Dakota where he was Chief Meteorologist at KEVN-TV, the Fox affiliate, in Rapid City. In 2004, Dan was recruited by Cabela’s, a leading outdoor retailer, where he first served as a writer before becoming the company’s corporate meteorologist and producing a daily internal newsletter sent to all Cabela’s locations in the USA and Canada. His publication covered weather, economic trends, emerging technologies, the outdoors industry, cyber threats and company news. During that time, Dan and Karen bought a farm near Sidney, Nebraska, where they raised chickens, goats, and two children.
Dan left Cabela’s in 2018, worked as a substitute science teacher for grades K-8, became a part-time pastor, and wrote two best-selling science fiction thriller novels, “Species Unknown” and “Species Unleashed”, which contain content that overlaps with UAP studies such as interdimensional travel, cryptids, Native American lore, and advanced aerospace technologies. He has since moved back to the Black Hills and renewed his interest in UAPs. While interested in all aspects of UAP and cryptids, Dan is especially adept at exploring and asking questions about potential moral, philosophical, and religious ramifications of human interactions with UAPs.
In addition to being a pastor, Dan has a side gig as a freelance writer, is an avid outdoorsman, and is fascinated military history, especially from World War II to the present. To reach Dan, you can visit his website at www.dancarlson.net, email him at thedancarlson@gmail.com, or on X (formerly Twitter) @HewhoisDan.
South Africa has had its share of UFO reports, and thanks to Zimbabwe-based researcher Cynthia Hind, who put out UFO Afrinews from July 1988 to July 2000, we have a record of many of them. In the 1970s, Charles Bowen, the editor of London-based Flying Saucer Review, also had his eye on South Africa, and in the January-February 1973 issue, he mentions a flap there that, according to him, began in July 1972. Along with other reports, he presents a newspaper account of a dramatic case involving a UFO that seemingly damaged a tennis court in the town of Rosmead in the Eastern Cape Province. Hind gives details of the case in the first issue of UFO Afrinews, calling it “perhaps my best case” when it comes to physical trace cases and references her book, UFOs: African Encounters, as the source. In the annals of UFOlogy, there are many cases that, like zombies, refuse to stay buried even in the midst of convincing arguments and evidence debunking them. The case of the reported crash of an airship and recovery of its unearthly pilot in Aurora, Texas, in 1897 is a prime example of this. Read more →
BIO: Stanley Milford Jr. graduated from the United States Indian Police Academy at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Artesia, New Mexico, and worked continuously as a sworn law enforcement officer for over twenty-three years. He served as the delegated Chief Navajo Ranger for over two years through March of 2019. While with the Navajo Rangers, Stan oversaw a section called the Special Projects Unit (SPU), whose responsibilities included the investigation of cases that did not fit within everyday parameters of law enforcement or criminal investigation, many of which involved reports of the paranormal or supernatural. After leaving the Navajo Rangers, Stan served as the senior investigator for the Navajo Nation’s White Collar Crime Unit.
The reported sighting on February 4, 1977, of a UFO and creature by students at the Broad Haven Primary School in Pembrokeshire, Wales, was the beginning of a flap throughout the county. The area where reports were most concentrated has been dubbed “The Broad Haven Tringle.” Multiple witnesses were willing to go on record, including with the Ministry of Defense, saying they had seen not only strange craft, but silver-suited creatures as well. One dramatic encounter was recalled by a witness for Episode 3 of the 2023 series, Encounters, produced for Netflix by Steven Spielberg’s company. While this is many years later, the story told by the witness is the same as that told by the witness to an investigator who spoke to her and her mother closer to the event just months later. BIO: Andy Marcial is a researcher of 20+ yrs who was forced down the rabbit hole after very personal and life changing close encounters. Andy’s entire life all he has done is try to understand what he’s seen and why he went through what he went through. It changed him and showed him that there is an entire reality out there beyond human comprehension. It also drove him to reach out to others like himself because of how psychologically damaging this can be. Andy also recently leaked 3 Department of Homeland Security videos to the public, which were controversial. He doesn’t do what he does for any other reason than to open the minds of anyone willing to listen and to show those affected by this phenomenon that they are not alone.
In last week’s blog, we looked at a case from Maine (we failed to identify the location) involving two young men, David Stephens and Glen Gray, who reported encounters with multiple UFOs, a period of missing time, physical symptoms, possible poltergeist activity, and a visit by a man wearing a dark blue suit (not quite an MiB) who told Stephens, “Better keep your mouth shut if you know what’s good for you.” The account up to this point, as reported by Brent Raynes in the article (page 12 of the pdf) headlined “The Twilight Side of a UFO Encounter” published in the July 1976 Vol. 22, No. 2 Flying Saucer Investigator, all came from conscious recall by Stephens and Gray. Stephens later underwent regressive hypnosis to try to fill in the missing time and details came out that involved possibly being aboard a craft and examined by strange, non-human creatures.
